Welcome to Farnhill

Farnhill is an English civil parish within the unitary authority of North Yorkshire

Parishioners of the village have described Farnhill as just the best place to live. Situated on the steep south facing side of the Aire Valley, it basks in all the available sunshine and provides its residents with extensive views over the valley and onto the Pennine moors beyond. It offers peace, quiet and tranquillity whilst affording its residents quick and easy access to town, to transport links and to city and beautiful countryside including the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It offers the best of both worlds. The village has a history which goes back to Domesday. It is a designated Conservation Area and boasts historic buildings and infrastructure, including the Leeds – Liverpool canal which, with its impressive eighteenth-century aqueduct, forms the boundary which separates Farnhill from its twin – Kildwick. Within its limited resources, the Parish Council seeks to maintain, conserve, improve and develop all aspects of the village and its surroundings, and to encourage all members of the community to share in that endeavour and thereby continue to develop a thriving sharing, supportive village community. This web site will give you the opportunity to see what the Council are doing and to contribute some of your own suggestions and ideas for projects and events to be considered for the future.
