1 Highways (A) ·       Parking: Newby Rd – painting of double yellow lines.

·       Parking; Starkey Lane – ascertain cost from NYCC of painting parking bays to ensure considerate parking; implement funds permitting.

·       Resolve flooding junction Bradley Road and Main Street

·       Enforce 20 mph speed limit for Newby Road, Starkey Lane and Mary Street.

·       Following exhaustive consultation with local residents, PC decided not to proceed.

 

 

·       NYC carried out remedial action; no further flooding; Shelley Well flows again!

2 Lighting (B) ·       Continue rolling programme to replace remaining lights with heritage lamps (3 on main St – others?).

·       Replace modern (concrete?) lamp posts?

·       Complete programme to replace LED bulbs in remaining street lights.

·       New heritage light installed on Main St.

·       Ditto bottom of Starky Lane

 

 

 

 

 

·       Eleven standard lights upgraded to LED.

3 Play Area (C) Awaiting repair/reinforcement of back wall – responsibility rests with NYCC. In the meantime prohibit access. Following intervention of Craven Herald, NYCC have miraculously identified funds for repair. Work commenced 3 Nov 25
4 Village Maintenance (D) ·       Conclude maintenance contract

·       Arbour:

◦        Place boulders/posts

◦        Replace washing-line posts and make access safe

◦         Remove cherry and sycamore trees; replace with appropriate fruit trees.

◦        Monitor trees and action as arises

·       Resolve the issue of unsafe washing poles and replacement facility

 

 

 

 

 

·       Concern raise by villager regarding bat habitat. Seeking advice from NYCC

·       Landscaping contractor appointed

 

·       Stones placed – too small?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

·       Unsafe poles removed and replacement rotary-airer installed – monitor

5 Footpaths (E) ·       Ensure all village footpaths are cleared of undergrowth and are safe – connect maintenance contract

·       Ensure that all footpaths in the Parish are nominated for continued inclusion on the definitive footpath map compiled by DEFRA – deadline 1 January 2031

6 Inspection of village Assets (F) ·       Annual inspection by Council Members of village assets: walkabout

·       Continued inspections of dog waste-bins, grit-bins and sand-bag bins. Remedial action as necessary.

·       Three yearly tree inspections: Arbour, Pinfold, Village

8 Social Provision (H) Encourage young people to become involved in the village Eg litter picking
9 National Legislation and local procedures (I) ·       Chair has written mandated policies and  consolidated them. Copies in folders to be distributed to all councillors.
